A historical organization in Bucks County is remembering the life and legacy of one of their longtime members, who oversaw their operations.

The Doylestown Historical Society, located at 56 South Main Street in Doylestown, is remembering their administrators and curator, Fletcher Walls, who served with the organization for many years. Walls recently passed away after working to promote local history with the society.

“Fletcher was our administrator, curator, and so many other roles at The Doylestown Historical Society over so many years,” the organization said online. “Thank you Fletcher for your tireless contributions to help preserve Doylestown’s local history.”

The Doylestown Historical Society was begun as a committee of the Doylestown Revitalization Board in order to focus on historic preservation back in 1995.

“The genuine appeal of history and historic preservation was one of the few competitive edges available to the downtowns,” the organization said online. “Since then, revitalization has been a great success.”

Walls’ contributions to the organization were vast, and his absence will be felt by members of the society and those who learned about Bucks County through his work.
