Bucks County Cemetery Hosting Another Service for Local Unclaimed Veterans

The ceremony will honor four unattended veterans from the area.

A ceremony is scheduled to be held in Bucks County this week to honor several local heroes who will be laid to rest.

Washington Crossing National Cemetery, located at 830 Highland Road in Newtown, will be hosting another Service for Unattended Veterans on April 27 at 2 PM. The service will honor four local veterans who passed away with no relatives to claim them.

The veterans being honored and buried are:

  • William Bauer – US Army Specialist (Vietnam War era) Died in 2023 – From Montgomery County
  • John Campbell Morgan – US Navy Yeoman Seaman Recruit (Vietnam Era) Died in 2013 – From Bucks County
  • William Strauss – U.S. Army Private First Class (Korean War era) Died in 2012 – From Bucks County
  • Leonard Wilson – US Army Recruit (Korean War era) Died 2012 – From Bucks County
  • Amelia Emma Caro, wife of World War II veteran, Died in 2013 – From Bucks County

“This dignified service is called The Unattended Service and ensures that these Veterans are laid to rest with the honor and respect they deserve,” the national cemetery said online.

“No veterans should take this final journey alone.”
