An important organization in Bucks County just received a major grant in order to continue their efforts in helping local residents.

The Bucks County Department of Mental Health and Developmental Programs recently received $500,000 in funding grants. Local politician Brian Fitzpatrick played a major role in the acquisition of the funds.

“Proud to announce a new $500K community funding grant for the Bucks County Department of Mental Health and Developmental Programs,” Fitzpatrick said online.

“As co-chair of the Bipartisan Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Caucus, I will continue to direct national resources back home to our beloved community so that we can overcome our mental health crisis and safe lives.”

The Bucks County Department of Behavioral Health/Developmental Programs is responsible for the administration of services to Bucks County residents who are diagnosed with mental illness, substance use disorder, intellectual disability or developmental delay/disability, and their families, according to the Bucks County government’s website.
