A police department in Bucks County is stepping up checks after several credit card skimmers were found at two local gas stations, according to a staff report from FOX 29 Philadelphia.

The skimmers were discovered at two separate Penndel locations – the 7-Eleven Gas Station at 527 West Lincoln Highway and Express Gas at 652 Bellevue Avenue. They were installed on several gas station pumps.

No devices were detected at the town’s third location.

According to police, the source of the skimmers is as yet unknown. An investigation has been launched to discover who planted the devices and more checks are now being added.

“We have been frequently checking the pumps for skimmers and working with the business owners to prevent them in the first place,” said police. “This is the first time we were able to locate them and will be increasing our frequency of checking the pumps for the devices.”
