The Doylestown branch of the the Bucks County Free Library, located at 150 South Pine Street in Doylestown, has received a $539,660 grant, which will be used to improve the library’s main building.

The grant comes from Pennsylvania’s Keystone Grants for Public Library Facilities program, which is giving out $4.1 million in funding to 21 libraries throughout the state.

“Libraries are one of the cornerstones of our democracy,” Rep. Tim Brennan said in a statement.

“With school libraries under censorship pressure in the region, our local libraries take on even greater importance as resources for historical knowledge and accurate information.”
