The restaurant has stood in a popular shopping center for ten years.

A Bucks County restaurant, which has stood in the area for a decade, recently announced that they will be permanently closing their doors. Chris Rollins wrote about the closure for New Jersey 101.5.

Zoës Kitchen, a Mediterranean fast-casual restaurant in the Goodnoe Corner Shopping Center in Newtown, has closed for good this week after ten years

The restaurant currently sports a “Closed Permanently” handwritten sign on the door and has a padlock in place.

The Newtown restaurant opened in 2013. It took the place of Cosi at the time, which closed in 2012.

The chain was acquired by Cava Group, which operates the Cava chain of restaurants that are a cross between Zoës Kitchen and Chipotle, in 2018. Since the acquisition, the company has been converting some of the Zoës Kitchen locations into Cava’s and closing others.

There is still a possibility that the Newtown space will be converted into a Cava location, since Zoës Kitchen which recently closed in nearby Lawrence Township, New Jersey, is currently being converted.

There are already a number of Cava locations in the Philadelphia region, including Glen Mills, Ardmore, Lancaster, Plymouth Meeting, and Newtown Square.
