Four Workplace Buzzwords of 2023

The pandemic popularized workplace terminologies such as “Zoom fatigue,” as well as the more recently coined terms “quiet quitting”, “rage applying” and “Bare Minimum Monday.” Here are buzzwords to be on the lookout for in 2023, according to Business Insider.  

Rage Applying 

Ever opened your laptop after a frustrating day at work and mass applied to a bunch of different jobs? There’s a term for that, and it’s called “rage applying.” Some jobseekers have seen a positive pay-off for putting themselves out there. 

Bare Minimum Monday 

In the same vein as quiet quitting, this term means that employers are not putting pressure on themselves to hit the ground running at the start of the week.  

Chaotic Working  

The robin hoods of the working world will love this term. It usually involves breaking rules for customers and clients, due to resentment or anti-workplace sentiments.  

 Career Cushioning 

In the wave of recent layoffs from tech companies, many people are brushing up their resumes if it happens to them. It’s also known as ‘recession-proofing’.
