A community garden in Bucks County is continuing to honor the area’s fallen heroes through events and year-round acknowledgement.

Bensalem Township’s Legacy Garden was erected for the Bensalem’s Tricentennial in 1992. Its purpose was to honor those in Public Safety who gave their lives while on duty to protect and serve this Township.

“Located on the grounds of the Bensalem Township Municipal Complex (between the Township Building and Court House) a monument and plaques bare the names of those who made the ultimate sacrifice,” the township said online.

“This is also the site of the Bensalem Township Police Memorial Service held annually in May.”

The garden serves as a reminder that those who protect the area do so at a great risk, and monuments like this have helped to keep their memories alive.
