The event honors those who lost their lives keeping their communities safe.

A business association in the Bucks County area worked with their community to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Staff writers for the Bucks County Courier Times wrote about the organization’s recent efforts.

The Feasterville Business Association worked with business and faith leaders in the community to celebrated the 22nd annual Project Blue Light Holiday Tree Lighting. The celebration acknowledges local members of law enforcement who have fallen int he line of duty.

Project Blue Light, the organization that oversees the event, began in 1989 when a local resident wanted to give homage to her son-in-law, a Philadelphia police officer who died in the line of duty. Blue Christmas lights are one of the most recognizable aspects of the event, with the colors used in honor to fallen members of local law enforcement.

The business organization was joined by Rev. John J. Kelly of the Assumption BVM Catholic Church in Feasterville to honor local heroes. After this, the event ended with music and holiday songs.
