The decades-old cold case stumped investigators for decades.

A cold case that has left Bucks County officials puzzled for over 60 years may soon be solved as investigators continue their search. Keith Schweigert wrote about the case for Fox 43.

On Feb. 17, 1960, Bucks County authorities found Helen Drummond Fischer, 55, dead in her Doylestown home. Found to have suffered multiple injuries, police and investigators searched for the perpetrator, but were unable to pinpoint who or where this person was.

At the time when authorities discovered her body, she had been estranged from her husband, millionaire industrialist Kermit Fischer, whom she had pending charges of assault against.

Fischer died in 1971 while in Belgium; investigators were never able to determine if he has any relation to the crime.

Now, 63 years later, authorities are still baffled by the crime and are continuing to go through decades-old documents, forensics, and other crime scene essentials to put this cold case to rest.
