The local politician has been elected to another four-year term.

One of Bucks County’s most well-known politicians was just elected for a second term, and he has a lot of plans for the new year. Jeff Werner wrote about the local politician for the Doylestown Patch.

Senator Steve Santarsiero, who represents the tenth district, which includes a part of Bucks County, was sworn in last week to his second term as a Pennsylvania Senate member. Santarsiero was also appointed as Democratic Chair for the Senate Judiciary Committee, among other committee assignments.

Santarsiero was first elected in 2018. Some of his accomplishments include amending the fiscal code three years ago to create a path for 8,000 permanent jobs at the former U.S. Steel site and passing Kayden’s Law in the Senate in 2021. He also helped preserve the fracking ban in the Delaware River Basin and spearheaded a budget initiative last year that established an additional $5 million in disaster emergency funds.

“Serving the people of the 10th district in Bucks County is my honor,” said Santarsiero. “I am proud of all that we have accomplished in my first term, and I am humbled to have the support to serve for another four years.”

He added that he will continue to fight “to preserve our environment, protect the rights of all Pennsylvanians, and pass commonsense solutions to end gun violence.”
