The Loss of a Young Newtown Mother, Local Teacher Leaves Community Grieving

A Bucks County native and local teacher’s recent passing has left several communities mourning her and remembering her story. Jillian Mele wrote about the late local teacher and mother for 6ABC.
The sudden loss of 30-year-old Jennifer Krasna, a Newtown mother and teacher who was loved and adored by all who knew her, has left the whole community grieving. Her work family at Charlestown Elementary School in Malvern are taking the loss especially hard.
“Just seeing her walk down the hallway, and just always smiling and always taking the time to feel like you were the most important person on the planet in that moment,” said Jessica Shock, a fifth-grade teacher.
Her best friend has set up a GoFundMe page for the family that has already received close to five times the original asking sum as of this writing. The community is using this as an opportunity to show support for Krasna’s husband Jesse and the couple’s two young boys.
“This week especially is hard and we haven’t experienced this, taking a minute at a time,” said Chris Vogt, a third-grade teacher. “I can only imagine that as time passes, it may become easier for some of us as it’s becoming harder for Jesse and his sons. Holidays and every first holiday will be gut-wrenching.”
