Construction for a Wawa store and gas station in Newtown could begin soon under certain stipulations from the township.

A lucky Bucks County resident just received an early Christmas gift after purchasing a winning lottery ticket from a local Wawa location. Mac Bullock wrote about the winner for the Daily Voice.

A lucky Bucks County lottery player, who bought their ticket at the Wawa at 3328 Bristol Road in Bensalem, won $50,000 from a New Year’s Millionaire Raffle Ticket. The number of the winning raffle ticket was one of the two numbers that were randomly drawn between Dec. 6 and Dec. 12, according to Pennsylvania State Lottery officials.

Each week in the run-up to the Jan. 7 grand drawing, two lucky New Year’s Millionaire Raffle players win $50,000. During the grand drawing, players will have a chance to win one of the 6,000 cash prizes that total more than $5 million.

Players can find out if they are lucky enough to have bought a winning ticket by scanning it using the ticket checker at an official lottery retailer or using the Pennsylvania State Lottery mobile app.

The name of the Bucks County winner of the $50,000 prize has not been publicly released.
