The new announcer is a veteran in the niche sports industry.

A popular Bucks County horse track recently announced their new announcer, a veteran in the industry and a voice in American racing. Matt Hegarty wrote about the new announcer for DRF.

Parx Racing in Bensalem has found its new full-time track announcer in Jessica Paquette, a 20-year racing industry veteran. Paquette, who was previously doing multiple short stints as the announcer at many U.S. tracks, will start on December 12.

Paquette most recently worked as the director of communications at Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation. She will now become the only woman to work as a full-time, year-round track announcer at a racetrack in the U.S.

“It’s really humbling and not something I take lightly, to make a little bit of history,” she said.

Previously, Paquette called races at Suffolk Downs, Colonial Downs, and Sam Houston Race Park. She also brings with her extensive on-camera experience as a racing analyst.

This new position is “a dream come true” for her.

Joe Wilson, the chief operating officer for Parx, is overjoyed that Paquette has joined the racing venue.

“The high regard with which she is held in our industry along with a tremendous work ethic makes her the perfect person to usher in this new era for Parx,” he said.
