The two areas will enact a tax that is commonplace in the rest of Bucks County.

After the majority of the Bucks County area has adopted an earned income tax, two local municipalities are following suit. Peg Quann wrote about the recent financial news in the Bucks County Courier Times.

Langhorne and Morrisville are the latest areas to enact an earned income tax. Morrisville’s began in July and Langhorne’s will begin in January. The only parts of Bucks County to not have the tax are Bristol, Langhorne Manor, Tullytown, Yardley and the townships of Falls and Lower Makefield.

The addition of this to the areas will help low- to moderate-income workers and families get a tax break.

“Those residents that currently pay the Philadelphia wage tax, will not be double taxed,” said Paul Murdock, President of Langhorne Council. “They will continue to pay in Philadelphia and not have to pay any additional EIT to Langhorne Borough.”
