The toy drive will help local children in need this holiday season.

As the holiday season gets closer, Kevin Miller, a retired staff sergeant with the US Marine Corps, continues to struggle to find warehouse space in Central Bucks to host the corps’ Toys For Tots program, writes Zack Boyd for the Bucks County Courier Times.

“We don’t look for much,” said Miller. “We just need to be able to see what we’re doing and be able to process toys.”

The program, which has been evicted from its current warehouse in Ottsville, is ideally looking for a 2,500-square-foot space with electricity and at least one bathroom close to Doylestown, Plumsteadville, or Pipersville.

Last year, the program made the holidays brighter for 3,000 children in need by gifting them 15,000 toys.

Time is of the essence as the program is hoping to begin filling requests from charities sometime this month. This will be difficult to achieve if a suitable space cannot be found where the they can spread out the toys and process requests from organizations.

Currently, toy donations are placed into a local resident’s garage.

“It’s packed wall to wall,” said Miller.
