This Bucks County High School Golf Team Just Made History During a Major Tournament

The golf team made a huge impact on their latest sporting event.

A Bucks County high school golf team recently made their mark on the sport in a major tournament that took place this week. Staff writers at Suburban One Sports wrote about the recent victory by the local team.

The Bensalem Owl’s gold team, featuring four players fro Bensalem High School took part in the District One Golf Tournament at Turtle Creek Golf Course in Limerick on Monday.

Owls golfers Anthony Heisse, Matt Kilner, Jack Wineburg and Zac Devos, under the direction of coach Jeff Schluchterer, came out as some of the top players at the tournament. Coach Schluchterer could not remember the last time the golf team did this well.

“Since I’ve been doing this from 2010, it hasn’t happened,” he said. “When I started in 2010, we had three – two seniors and a freshman.”

All of the players regularly partake in the sport, with some even working at golf courses outside of school.

“In the last year, a lot of us just decided to start golfing in our free time,” Anthony Heisse said. “In the summer, we tried to play every day.”
