A Bucks county retirement home recently hosted a billiards championship, which saw one team take home the top prize. Staff writers at the Lower Bucks Times wrote about the recent event.
On Sept. 19, the James E. Kinney Senior Center held the last games of the Spring-Summer League Billiards Championship at their Richboro center. Team Yankees beat the Pirates in the final game of the competition, which began back in April.
The long competition saw 75 games played between countless teams from Bucks County and beyond. Team Yankee’s, captained by Mike Mulkeen, beat the Pirates, captained by Mike Pate, in the final game, which was a best of three round 2-1.
This fun event is one of several that are being held in the Bucks County area. People from around the surrounding area come to Bucks County for sporting events all the time, and this latest championship shows that major competitions can be held anywhere in this part of the state.
