Levittown Native, Known for Unicycling His Way Through Town, Brightens Locals’ Days With His Kindness
A Bucks County man has become known for riding through Levittown on his unicycle, befriending countless residents on the way. Matteo Iadonisi wrote about the local man and his unique ride for 6ABC.
Robert “Bob” Duffy, a lifelong Levittown resident, began riding a unicycle over four decades ago when he had a route as a local paperboy. He fell in love with his eye-catching ride and has been seen riding it everywhere since.
“I got really good at it, and next thing you know, I’m trying everything on it. And I’m still riding a wheel after 44 years,” Duffy said.
He has had a few jobs in the Bucks County area that have allowed him to use his ride, including a career at Bailey’s Bar and Grille, a Levittown eatery he has been a regular of since they opened in 1991.
Along with his unicycle, Duffy is also known for wearing tie-dyed pants and Philadelphia sports merchandise. Whether he is passing by drivers or talking with regulars to his favorite food spots, Duffy’s presence in Levittown is as welcoming and unique as the ride he has used for years.
