A Bucks County borough, partnering with a local historical society, gave a unique talk where an actor gave a speech as a noted suffragist.

Doylestown Borough recently hosted an event with the Doylestown Historical Society and the League of Women Voters in Bucks County, which saw a member for he latter-mentioned political organization give a speech as a major figure in Bucks County history.

Chris Flynn showed up to the event dressed as Alice Paul, a suffragist who fought for women’s rights in the Buck County area and beyond. Flynn gave a speech as Paul, and gave answers to questions that the noted suffragist would have given.

“Suffragist and activist for women’s rights throughout her entire life, she retells the struggles women have had to endure throughout history,” the historical society said in a statement. “Thank you to Borough of Doylestown for hosting us!”
