BERA updated its financial relief program in hopes of assisting more Bucks County residents.

The Fall Township Board of Supervisors recently contracted with a consoling firm to determine if an earned income tax will have a positive or negative affect on local residents. Staff writers at the Lower Bucks Times wrote about the recent deal.

The board recently voted unanimously to hire ESI Consult Solutions, Inc. to undertake a study for the proposed tax. Completion of the study will help the board determine the financial impact of a one-percent EIT on the township’s budget.

Being one of the only municipalities in the county that has not enacted an EIT, the study will give the township insight into whether or not the possible tax will have positive or negative implications on local residents.

The upcoming study will be the first step toward the township deciding on the tax.The first two phases of the consulting firm’s work will cost an estimated $20,000.
