The 2022 edition of the New Hope Film Festival runs July 22–30 in both in-person and streaming formats.

The 2022 edition of a movie menagerie that the Huffington Post described as “Sundance east” is back. The New Hope Film Festival (NHFF), July 22–30, will be hotter than a tub of freshly popped corn, as reported by Jeff Warner in the New Hope–Lambertville Patch.

This year’s NHFF comprises 75 official selections of 66 films from 13 countries and nine original scripts.

As happened for the 2021 edition, some films will be made available to judges via streaming at home, and others will screen live at the New Hope Arts Center. For these in-person showings, COVID protocols are still in place.

The filmmakers themselves, however, will connect virtually, owing to their national and global distances from Bucks County.

“The New Hope Film Festival’s films are topical, thought-provoking and entertaining, making the event a joy for the growing number of intellectually curious and adventurous patrons of the arts who attend,” said Doug Whipple, the NHFF president and event founder.

Organizers do not invite films into the festival; rather, a policy is in place that maintains fairness and integrity in the selection process.

The once entered, the works are judged by standards that are extremely high. Neither budget nor name recognition are considered. The art must shine through to ensure that only the best works in each category justifiably rise to the top.

The full New Hope Film Festival program is online, as is the means of accessing tickets.
