Deep Roots, a new Yardley vegetarian restaurant, stems from the fertile culinary brain of Jim Cain, owner of Vault Brewing Company and other local eateries. Details on its early February opening were unearthed by John Fey in the Yardley Patch.

Deep Roots shares the location of other nearby dining experiences under Cain’s direction. He says the idea behind the close proximity was to cross-pollinate their mutual successes.

“One business with two different cuisines,” Cain commented, describing the vegetarian restaurant’s building-share with his Pretty Bird Coffee shop.

And while Cain’s brewery is his centerpiece for adult beverages, the vegan bar provides specialty cocktails with spirits he distills.

“Nothing pairs better with vegetarian than cocktails made with fresh-squeezed juices,” he said.

Those drinks augment a nonmeat menu that includes a black bean and mushroom burger, truffle and mushroom risotto, and Kung Pao Brussels sprouts.

“We strive to bring new culinary options to the borough,” Cain said. “There are no vegetarian places in the area so we felt like the concept would meet an unmet need.”
