The 2022 edition of the YMCA Bucks County Strong 5K will be an in-person event for the first time in two years.

After back-to-back virtual versions of the YMCA Bucks County Strong 5K, the May 15 race is returning to its live format. That means an end to solo running and tracking of individual times and a resurrection of the camaraderie of group participation in a community race.

The YMCA positions the event as ideal for both first-time runners and seasoned athletes. They will traverse a course through picturesque Doylestown, finishing at War Memorial Stadium at Central Bucks West High School.

All the perks of an in-person event are returning: Runners will psych themselves up to a soundtrack of prerace entertainment. Moreover, they will gain the extra motivation that comes from cheering friends, families, and spectators along the route.

The day also includes something for the junior joggers. A one-mile fun run will take off around the school track.

And speaking of the kids, runners needing childcare while they compete can use the onsite Play & Stay services.

Post-race, competitors can refuel with food truck fare, part of the finish party.
