Representatives from Grand View Health, Grand View Health Foundation, and Harleysville Bank visit the medical center construction site in Sellersville.

Grand View Health is building a 190,000 sq. ft., six-story healthcare pavilion in Sellersville, part of what is foreseen as an entire campus of community-accessible healthcare in the northwest sector of Bucks County.

The site is expected to open in summer 2023.

The hospital expansion project includes:

  • 52 private patient rooms
  • 10 state-of-the-art operating rooms
  • A new emergency department
  • A rooftop helipad to support a Level II Adult Trauma Center, the only one of its caliber in the county

The fundraising initiative was boosted by a $50,000 pledge from Harleysville Bank, made as a component of the Grand View Health Foundation “This Is Us Together” campaign.

“Harleysville Bank and Grand View Health have both served people in our communities for more than 100 years,” said M. Shane Michalak, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Harleysville Bank. “We are proud to make this pledge to the Foundation because we know it will positively impact local people for years to come.”

Sandy Alderfer, the foundation’s board chair and campaign chair, recognized the impact of the donation, saying, “This pledge from Harleysville Bank will help us strengthen Grand View Health’s level of care even further. We are extremely grateful for their generosity as we move closer to our campaign goal to raise $14 million.”

Doug Hughes, Interim President and CEO of Grand View Health, added: “The future of healthcare will look radically different over the next few years, and our expansion project will allow us to adapt with that future and provide our community with the extraordinary care they expect and deserve.”
