Bucks County Community College is holding an online info session tonight for its single-engine pilot training program.

Bucks County Community College (Bucks) prepares students for all kinds of careers, from traditional business to arts and science to even the trades. But its flight training program truly prepares students for a blue-sky future.

The 10-week course is conducted in conjunction with Infinity Flight Group, a Trenton-based flight school. At its conclusion, students emerge with the knowledge to tackle the Federal Aviation Administration’s written exam to become a private pilot.

A journey to the clouds can begin with a free, online introduction tonight, Feb. 16, at 6:00 p.m. Following that, the coursework at the Newtown campus begins Feb. 23 and continues to Apr. 27.

The classwork is led by David Needham, a twice-certified flight instructor, officially authorized to train fledgling pilots on single-engine aircraft.

The syllabus covers:

  • Aircraft systems
  • Aerodynamics
  • Flight instruments
  • Navigation
  • Weather
  • Flight planning
  • Regulations
  • Airspace

Students must be at least 15 years old.

To register for tonight’s free online overview of the Bucks flight training program, call the Continuing Education Office at 215.968.8409.
