Mayank Amin, the owner of the Skippack Pharmacy, is pulling out every trick in the book to make the COVID-19 vaccination process as easy as possible for the kids, writes Jimmy Vielkind for The Wall Street Journal.

During the first day of pediatric vaccination, Amin had a child cry for 30 minutes. This sad scene prompted him to adjust his process and gave him ideas on how to stage a large-scale vaccination clinic.

When he organized one earlier in November at a nearby school, he gave each child a color-coded wristband. The colors were based on what parents said were the chances of their children throwing a fit. The most likely screamers were directed to a “VIP lounge.”

“Even if they scream and cry, it doesn’t scare the bejeebies out of the others,” said Amin.

To keep all of the kids occupied, the clinic featured live music and jugglers, while the vaccinators wore superhero suits and capes. Those waiting at the post-shot room could listen to a librarian read stories, watch a magician do some tricks, and write a thank-you note to vaccine developers.
