U.S. News: Villanova University Makes List of Best Global Universities

Villanova University has made the U.S. News and World Report 2022 Best Global University list, coming in ninth among 10 total Pennsylvania universities on the list, writes Pat Ralph for Philly Voice.

It was one of five in the Philadelphia region to make the list, joining the University of Pennsylvania, Temple University, Drexel University, and Thomas Jefferson University.

 U.S. News and World Report generated overall and subject rankings 2,005 schools in 91 countries.

Villanova ranked 1,011th globally out of the 2,005 schools.  

The rankings focused on the university’s research output and reputation.

Student outcomes, admission figures, and particular undergraduate or graduate programs were not part of the ratings system.

Villanova ranked 228th in its regional research reputation, 994th in its global research reputation.

It was 723rd in the number of books published, 993rd in conferences held.

University of Pennsylvania ranked 13th globally. Temple was 303rd. Drexel was 354th and Thomas Jefferson University was 402nd.

In the top five globally, the No. 1 school was Harvard University, followed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Standford University, University of California Berkley, and University of Oxford.
