Perkasie's first rooftop dining experience, The Ram, has opened.

Perkasie Borough councilman Aaron Clark calls The Ram “the talk of the town.” The restaurant — and particularly its rooftop view — brings “something new to the borough that we haven’t seen before,” Clark gushed. Melinda Rizzo covered the object of his enthusiasm for Lehigh Valley Business.

The Ram, which opened August 5, is next to Perkasie Borough Hall, in a building that was a retail location in the 1920s.

According to Joe Wade, its operator, the structure’s transformation into The Ram was an exercise in using local talent to spark economic development. He estimates that 90 percent of the contractors and tradespeople working onsite are from the Pennridge School District.

“And 95 percent of employees in the restaurant come from within the 18944 ZIP Code,” he said.

Owing to staffing shortages, which Wade is feverishly addressing, access to the roof is currently limited. When running at full-tilt, the rooftop will be limited to patrons who are 21 or older on a first-come, first-served, unless booked for a private party or event.

Business up there is expected to be brisk. Diners will flock to see the expansive views of farmlands and woods. And fans of the annual Christmas tree lighting will clamor to see it from above.

More on The Ram and its spectacular Perkasie views is at Lehigh Valley Business.
