Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez kicks off the 2021-2022 academic year tomorrow by visiting two Warminster high schools.

He will tour Archbishop Wood High School (AWHS) and then visit its new onsite high school, Our Lady of Confidence (OLC). OLC moved to the AWHS campus at the end of the second semester last May, vacating its site in Wyncote, Montgomery County.

OLC, according to its mission statement, works to “facilitate the complete development of the students with intellectual disabilities to their fullest potential, spiritually, intellectually, mentally, physically, and emotionally.” It was founded in 1954 as a day school.

During his visit, Archbishop Pérez will greet administrators, staff, and students of both schools. He will tour AWHS, guided by members of the student council. His OLC tour follows, serving as a welcome to its new home.

A concelebrated Mass begins at 9:00 a.m. The liturgy includes a blessing of crucifixes by Archbishop Pérez that are headed for placement in OLC’s classrooms. The event will adhere to social distancing guidelines.

The AWHS Facebook page, the AWHS website, and the personal Facebook page of Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez are all streaming the Mass.
