Check Those Pockets, Handbags, and Sofa Cushions for Tickets: Somebody in Bucks County Is a Half-Billionaire
What started as a purchase of a lottery ticket at a convenience store on Levittown’s Trenton Road is going to mean a new resident on Millionaire’s Mile somewhere, reports NBC10.
One lucky player matched all five white balls — and the yellow Megaball — in the May 21 draw. Lottery officials estimate a payout of $516 million, the largest in the history of the Commonwealth.
And that’s after taxes.
The 7-11 store that sold the ticket is getting a bonus of $100,000. Not bad for a transaction taking only a few seconds.
According to Pennsylvania Lottery statistics, the odds of such a win are 1 in 302,575,350. This is the third Mega Millions winner in the state and the largest jackpot ever awarded.
The winner has not come forward.
Perhaps they’re still reeling from the news.
