New Hope Makes List of Must-Visit Quaint Towns in Eastern Pennsylvania
With its plethora of charming bed and breakfast inns and loads of activities to keep travelers busy, New Hope has found its place among four quaint towns in Pennsylvania that should be on everybody’s must-visit list, writes Robin O’Neal Smith for the Travel Awaits.
In the middle of the small riverside town is the trail running along the Delaware Canal Towpath Trail and across the Delaware River. This makes it ideal for taking in picturesque scenery while walking or riding a bike, and can be explored individually or with a bike guide. The Encore Rides tour includes fun info on town, some history, and guidance on crossing bridges and state lines by bike.
For anyone looking for something more relaxing, there is New Hope Railroad that offers open-air excursions.
Meanwhile, Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve showcases floral species native to the area and offers a unique gift shop with beautiful plants to take home.
Other highlights include eclectic shops, delicious dining options, ice cream stands, the Bucks County Playhouse, and Peddler’s Village, an outdoor shopping village.
And as a bonus, Fonthill Castle in neighboring Doylestown is only a short ride away.
