From Yardley Little League to College Baseball Star: Ryan Zuckerman’s Rise at Georgia Tech

Ryan Zuckerman celebrates after a big moment for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets during the 2026 season. The Yardley native batted .350 with 23 home runs en route to earning ACC MVP honors.

Ryan Zuckerman grew up in Yardley watching Phillies highlight reels before Little League games. Now, he’s making highlights of his own, writes Becca O’Reilly for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The former Pennsbury High School standout has become one of college baseball’s breakout stars this season, helping power Georgia Tech to an Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) championship and a spot in the NCAA Regionals.

Zuckerman transferred to Georgia Tech after two seasons at the University of Pittsburgh, a move that paid off immediately. He’s entering the NCAA regionals batting a .350 average after the Yellow Jackets tore through the season at 49-9, tying a conference record with 25 ACC wins.

The successful season earned Zuckerman ACC’s Tournament MVP title after he hit his twenty-third home run of the season.

Zuckerman’s Bucks County roots run deep. He came up through T-ball, Little League, and travel ball before emerging as one of Pennsylvania’s top high school prospects, a path he credits for the love of the game that has carried him this far.

“Baseball is always that first passion I had,” Zuckerman said. “I stuck with that and just continued it for the rest of my life.”

It’s a line that sounds simple, but for a kid who grew up dreaming over those 2008 World Series highlights, it says everything.
