The landscapes people experience every day — from parks and campuses to public spaces and environmental restoration projects — often begin in a classroom.
Delaware Valley University’s Landscape Architecture Program will continue preparing the next generation of professionals after earning renewed accreditation from the Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board (LAAB) through 2030.
LAAB is the national organization responsible for evaluating landscape architecture programs across the country. Accreditation is awarded only to programs that demonstrate excellence in key areas, including curriculum, student learning outcomes, faculty expertise, facilities, and technology.
The renewal signals that DelVal’s program continues to meet rigorous industry standards while delivering the hands-on, career-focused education that has become a hallmark of the university.
Landscape architects play an important role in designing outdoor environments that are both functional and sustainable, from community parks and recreational spaces to commercial developments, campuses, and environmental restoration projects. As communities increasingly focus on sustainability, resiliency, and quality of life, demand for skilled landscape architects continues to grow.
Dr. Gloria Oikelome, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at DelVal, credited the program’s faculty and leadership for helping to achieve the accreditation renewal.
“I want to thank Professor Michael Fleischaker, Professor Dan Mullin, Dr. (Jacqueline) Ricotta, and Dean (Broc) Sandelin for their leadership efforts in this achievement,” Oikelome said. “I look forward to working with and supporting this program’s faculty to ensure we continue to deliver an effective educational experience for our students.”
