Bucks County’s most downloaded and listened to daughter is expecting.
Alex Cooper, the Newtown native who turned a scrappy relationship podcast into one of the most powerful brands in digital media, announced Sunday that she and husband Matt Kaplan are expecting their first child, writes Jo Ciavaglia for Bucks County Courier Times.
The “Call Her Daddy” host shared the news May 17 on Instagram, with a simple photo of the couple captioned “Our family.” The internet did the rest, flooding the post with congratulations from fans and celebrities alike.
Kaplan, a film producer behind Netflix’s beloved “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” franchise, met Cooper during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
The pair married in Riviera Maya, Mexico, in April 2024.
Cooper, 31, grew up in Newton before playing Division I soccer at Boston University.
She launched “Call Her Daddy” in 2018 as a candid, often irreverent look at relationships and sex, and quietly built it into something far bigger.
Celebrity interviews, lifestyle content, and the expansion of her Unwell Network have made her one of the most recognizable voices in podcasting.
Fame, it seems, hasn’t loosened her local roots. Back in Bucks County, residents have tracked her rise since the early days, and her latest announcement, perhaps her most personal yet, landed with particular warmth throughout the region.
