Bensalem-Based Pretzel Company Opens Location on Drexel Campus

Philly Pretzel Factory, based in Bensalem, has opened a location on Drexel University’s campus in the Papadakis Integrated Sciences Building.

Bensalem-based Philly Pretzel Factory is bringing its signature salty snacks to Drexel University, with a new location in the Papadakis Integrated Sciences Building, writes Carter Blake for The Triangle

The new store is opening on the heels of the campus’ Wawa closure in January, followed by the closures of El Taco and D.P. Dough in February.

“It’s been a lot, the process is a little lengthy,” said franchise owner Yuliya Malaty, “but it’s very exciting to be a part of the campus.”

Malaty previously worked at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman Center before deciding to begin a new career path.

The Drexel location has a fresh, unique interior unlike other stores in the area, and will be the first Philly location to also offer soft serve ice cream and water ice.

Along with these new sweet treats, customers will be able to pick up menu classics, like both cinnamon and regular Rivets. A pepperoni melt, pretzel poppers with cheesesteak filling, a spicy pretzel sausage, pretzel dogs, gelati treats, and Rivet sundaes will also be available.

Malaty discussed plans to have the establishment actively involved with campus life.

“With the student population, there are opportunities here to have clubs and orgs represented. I think it’s going to be great,” said Caroline Quattro, Public Relations Coordinator at Philly Pretzel Factory
