Members of the Council Rock High School North Marching Band, the band’s staff, and Director of Bands Gregory R. Boccuti were recently invited to Harrisburg for a special recognition, writes Jeff Werner for Patch.
Four Bucks County lawmakers welcomed the group to the state’s capital as Governor Josh Shapiro presented them with a legislative citation for their impressive 2025 season and championship wins.
The marching band won the USBands Group IIA Pennsylvania State Championship and the USBands Group IIA National Championship last year.
They competed in seven competitions, coming in first place in six of them, which included the championships. It’s a historic accomplishment for the school’s program.
The band’s 2025 production was titled “Caged” and featured themes of confinement and the road to freedom. Music from Peter Gabriel, Dmitri Shostakovich, and Ariana Grande was included in the performance.
“The Council Rock North Marching Band’s extraordinary season is a testament to what can be achieved through talent, discipline, and teamwork,” said State Senator Steve Santarsiero. “Capturing both the Pennsylvania state and national championships is an incredible accomplishment that brings immense pride to our entire community.”
“I couldn’t be prouder of the incredible talent, dedication and pride these students bring to every performance, and this season, their hard work truly paid off,” said State Rep. Kristin Marcell.
State Senator Frank Farry and State Rep. Perry Warren also praised the band’s hard work and competition wins.
