The Bucks County Playhouse recently announced its new masterclass series for this year, which will provide adult education classes at Lambertville Hall just across the river for performers over the age of 16 and any level of experience.
The Masterclass Monday Series gives individuals the chance to learn from professionals in the performing arts, offering training, insight, and real-world perspectives.
“These masterclasses create rare, intimate opportunities for our community to learn directly from artists who are doing this work at the highest level. It’s about access, inspiration, and giving people the tools to keep growing,” said Director of Education Michaela Murphy.
In the “Ace Your Auditions” class on March 30 from 6 PM to 8 PM, participants will receive coaching for concerts, cabarets, auditions, and more.
Brooklyn-based actor and director Will Roland will focus on song-acting techniques and how to best tell stories through song.
On April 27, from 6 PM to 8 PM, New Jersey-based playwright David Lee White and artist, educator, and creator Kate Brennan are teaching “Anatomy of a Musical.”
Participants will learn how stories are turned into musicals, walking through the first steps of the creation process.
Other classes coming out this year include “Fake Fighting, Real Listening” on June 1; “Both Sides Now: The Audition Experience from Two Perspectives” on June 29; “Acting A Song with Giuliana Augello” on Aug. 31; and “One Career, Many Stages: Building a Sustainable Life in the Arts” on Sept. 28.
