Meridian Bank Leader Jason Sheehan Brings Spartan Discipline to Commercial Real Estate

Meridian Bank’s Jason Sheehan blends disciplined leadership and elite Spartan competition to drive success in commercial real estate and community impact.

At Meridian Bank, strong leadership isn’t confined to the boardroom. It’s cultivated through discipline, resilience, and a willingness to do hard things, which are all values embodied by Commercial Real Estate team member Jason Sheehan.

In his role as Senior Vice President of Commercial Real Estate, Sheehan works closely with developers and businesses to structure and secure complex financing solutions, guiding deals from initial conversations through closing while building long-term relationships across the region. And his impact has not gone unnoticed; in 2023, he was recognized as a VISTA Millennial Superstar, which honors young professionals making meaningful contributions in their industries and communities.

That same steady, self-driven approach defines his life outside the office.

In 2025, Sheehan competed in the DEKA World Championship, Spartan’s elite indoor fitness competition, finishing 26th overall and fifth in his age group in the DEKA Fit event. The accomplishment followed a standout year that included winning a Spartan Trifecta weekend — completing three race distances in one weekend — and qualifying for the world championship event.

But for Sheehan, the medals aren’t the point.

“I’m a big proponent that you should do something hard every single day,” he said. “With  the sole reason being that it is hard, and you don’t want to.”

Training, he added, provides more than physical strength. It delivers mental clarity after long days navigating high-stakes conversations and financial decisions.

“If I can just put on my headphones and go get after it for an hour and be wanting to catch my breath at the end of it, knowing that I just made myself better physically — there’s that aspect of mental clarity,” he said.

Sheehan’s Spartan journey began just a few years ago when Meridian colleagues formed a team to compete in a race in the Poconos. After being “humbled very quickly,” he became serious about training. As he approaches 40, he’s determined to maximize what he jokingly calls “the last good years” of peak performance.

Still, his proudest moments now include sharing the experience with his 11-year-old son, who recently competed alongside him. “That’s another reason why I do it,” he said. “Hearing him say, ‘I’ll come to the gym with you; let’s do it.’”

At the heart of Sheehan’s professional and personal philosophy is one word: balance.

“You can’t just be work, work, work,” he said. “You have to better yourself in other aspects of life so that you can perform better at work. It’s all a balance.”

At Meridian Bank, leaders like Sheehan prove that excellence isn’t accidental but rather a concept built on one disciplined choice at a time.
