About 200,000 people are coming to Delaware County, specifically the Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, during the second week of May for the 2026 PGA Championship.
PGA America is going to need some help and is on a hiring spree, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
It’s looking to hire 250 workers for bartending, concessions, construction, carpentry, and other roles.
The PGA has opened its JobMatch program, allowing locals to apply for paid, short-term part-time and full-time employment for the tournament running May 11-17.
Positions will be needed before, during, and after the seven-day tournament.
Individuals can register under the program through Feb. 10. They will be contacted 60 to 90 days after the deadline.
In addition to the new hires, the PGA America also launched a VendorMatch program last May to recruit subcontractors for the tournament. Several dozen local companies are expected to participate.
The tournament’s economic impact on the Philadelphia area is estimated at $125 million.
In addition, Championship Director Ryan Ogle said the tournament will recruit 3,200 volunteers.
The tournament brings together 156 professional golfers from around the world, including 20 PGA America Golf Professionals.
