Doylestown Resident Appointed as Bucks County’s Chief Legal Officer

Dan Grieser of Doylestown was appointed as Bucks County’s chief legal officer, following a vote by the county’s Board of Commissioners.

Doylestown resident Dan Grieser was recently appointed as the county’s chief legal officer by the Bucks County Board of Commissioners, writes staff for DL-Online.  

Grieser previously served as the assistant county solicitor for Bucks’ Law Department, a position he began in 2021. He was later promoted to deputy county solicitor and continued to work his way up. 

In his new role, Grieser will oversee all lawsuits against and brought by the county, as well as its subdivisions and its over 2,000 employees.  

He also offers feedback and counsel to the Board of Commissioners, the administration’s departments, and the county’s Salary and Retirement Board. 

Grieser formerly served as a lieutenant colonel for the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps. He brings more than two decades of experience, having represented government agencies during his time in that role. 

Following his retirement from the Army, he acted as a municipal solicitor for Middletown Township, Newtown Township, the Centennial School District, and other local entities.
