According to a recent poll from the Bucks County Courier Times, Sunrise Diner in Croydon is one of the best diners in the county, selected as the top favorite among 24 restaurants, writes Michele Haddon for the Bucks County Courier Times.
The diner is a comforting haven for many, like Vicki Tennesen, who lost her husband five years ago. Tennesen has been a loyal customer for the last 20 years and credits the staff for providing a sense of connection and community.
“It’s like a family here. When I come by myself, it’s welcoming and I don’t feel alone,” she said.
“We build friendships with our guests. We treat everyone the same as the people who come to our home. We always take care of people, we sit with them, and we talk to them like a family member,” said general manager Tanju “TJ” Gumus.
The diner offers breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the week. Visitors can enjoy tasty dishes like Chicken and Waffles, Chicken Parmigiana, Scrapple Benedict, Roast Prime Rib, and Banana Caramel Walnut French Toast.
Sunrise is open from 6 AM to 9 PM, even on most holidays. On Christmas Day, the diner will be closing early at 2 PM.
