When Southampton’s Kidology founder Luba Patlakh Kaplun decided she wanted to extend her pediatric therapy service’s reach, she created a mobile therapy space, reports Wakisha Bailey for CBS News Philadelphia.
Kaplun found an old bus that she transformed, decorating the exterior with bright colors and their logo. She redesigned the inside to model one of their clinic’s rooms.
The company was founded 10 years ago in Bucks County and North Philadelphia. They currently offer physical, occupational and speech therapy to children in need of additional support.
At their facilities, patients work one-on-one with a therapist in one of the sixteen dedicated spaces, along with a sensory gym.
The space features playground equipment like swings and a sensory crawl space with activities designed to assist with things such as hand-eye coordination.
Realizing that not everyone who needs these services can commute to a clinic, Kaplun decided to bring therapy directly to families with the bus.
“It’s for such a good cause, and I’m so happy to be driving it,” she said.
