Philadelphia Phillies End Oak View Group Partnership to Launch New Vendor at Citizens Bank Park

The Philadelphia Phillies plan to part ways with global venue management company Oak View Group at Citizens Bank Park, replacing it with ABM.

The Philadelphia Phillies plan to part ways with global venue management company Oak View Group at Citizens Bank Park, choosing not to renew the operations contract once it expires at the end of the year, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Denver-based Oak View has 522 employees at Citizens Bank Park, 500 of whom are part-time and working under a collective bargaining agreement.

According to UFCW Local 1776, which represents around 180 of the Oak View employees at Citizens Bank Park, the contract will be taken over by the New York facility services company, ABM. UFCW Local 1776 said that the new vendor plans to honor the collective bargaining agreement and is working with ABM to ensure that its members have a smooth transition after December 31.

“Our priority is to protect our members’ jobs and maintain the wages and benefits they’ve earned,” said UFCW Local 1776 President Wendell W. Young IV.

It is currently unclear whether the employees who are not represented by UFCW Local 1776 will be retained by ABM.
