Bethlehem-Based Brewery Expands with New Canalside Taproom in Durham

Wishful Thinking Brewing Company expanded with a new taproom in Durham, named Wishful Thinking Brewing Co. On The River.

Bethlehem-based Wishful Thinking Brewing Company has recently expanded with a new taproom in Durham, known as Wishful Thinking Brewing Co. On The River, writes Ryan Kneller for WFMZ 69 News.

Guests at the Bucks County location can enjoy food and drinks on an outdoor patio while taking in views of the Delaware Canal, in addition to the taproom.

The new location, occupying a space previously home to eateries such as Someday Cafe and The Hungry Locktender, complements the brewery’s original location, which opened in April 2024.

It features five rotating draft beers and several canned varieties. Guests can also enjoy craft cocktails, wine and specialty coffee drinks, along with made-on-site pizzas, dips and much more.

Jackie and Brendan Breslin, who previously operated a mobile food business called Pizza Post, own the brewery Wishful Thinking.

“We are super excited!” said Jackie about the brewery’s new location. “We live five minutes away from the new location, and we previously used this as a commissary kitchen. So, we are familiar with the space.”

The couple partners with regional farms to source ingredients for brewing, including hops and grains such as barley, wheat and oats.
