This Family-Owned Perkasie Shop is a Must-Visit for Fun Accessories and More

Threddies is a family-owned small business offering hair accessories, clothing items and more.

If you’re looking for cute hair accessories or a cozy pair of socks to keep your feet warm, Threddies in Perkasie is a great place to check out.

Threddies Perkasie Shop

This family-owned small business sells everything from scrunchies and jewelry to thick slouch socks and incense. Customers can shop in person at their brick-and-mortar store or place individual, bulk or wholesale orders through the online Threddies shop.

The business began in 1999 when Elana Donmoyer decided to follow rock band Phish on their tour, selling homemade accessories and clothing items. It wasn’t long before Donmoyer expanded to offering products at festivals, fairs and local flea markets.

As internet shopping became increasingly popular, Donmoyer took advantage of the trend and focused her efforts on selling hair products to the public and companies around the world.

Donmoyer runs the business with her husband and children, managing their website, online orders and wholesale accounts directly. While her husband manages the business’s software systems and online store, Donmoyer can be found doing a little bit of everything behind the scenes and in the shop. Their sons are also working hard, assisting in the warehouse, designing graphics and editing content for their social media.

The opening of their hippie store in Perkasie was the business’s most recent expansion, offering a community space for locals to gather to shop for high-quality items.

At their shop, visitors can explore their wide variety of products, including stickers, patches, backpacks, tapestries and an oil bar for creating custom scents, along with other eclectic items.

Skinny elastic headbands and cotton-blend scrunchies are among their most popular hair items, both online and in-store. The thick slouch socks, inspired by the original slouch socks of the 80s and 90s, are also widely popular. Customers can choose from a range of fun colors, blending style and comfort, all made in the United States.

Threddies has been featured in a variety of publications, including WSJ Magazine, Vogue, Vanity Fair and Harper’s Bazaar.

Since its founding, Threddies has focused on their involvement with the community, forming personal connections with shoppers while ensuring customers around the world have access to their products. They proudly support local artists, sponsoring the Sellersville Theater. They also partnered with artist Tim Gibson for his 10,000 Project series, decorating the storefront and the ceiling of their store with bright peace signs and flower murals.

“Threddies has always been committed to supporting our community in creative ways,” Donmoyer said.

Threddies has something for everyone, whether you’re looking online or shopping in person, so be sure to check them out at their online shop or in Perkasie.
