Bucks County homeowners generally pay about $6,817 in municipal, school and county taxes, with some paying almost twice as much based on where they live, writes Chris Ullery for the Bucks County Courier Times.
According to a recently published review of Bucks County tax parcel data and millage rates, Upper Makefield in the Council Rock School District tops the list for the highest taxes. The town has the highest average assessed property value at $75,276 and the highest average property tax bill in the county at $13,459.
Bucks County’s average tax assessed value is approximately $34,236.
Solebury in the New Hope-Solebury School District comes in second with an average property tax of $11,942.74. Wrightstown in the Council Rock School District takes third at $11,903.27, followed by Lower Makefield in the Pennsbury School District in fourth at $10,865.78. Buckingham in the Central Bucks School District rounds out the top five at $9,715.42.
At the other end of the spectrum, residents of Riegelsville in the Palisades School District pay the lowest property tax at $3,857.66. They are followed by Quakertown in the Quakertown Community School District with $4,102.05.
