Mid Penn Bank has been named one of the 2025 Greatest Places to Intern in Pennsylvania by the PA Chamber Foundation.
The recognition was announced on July 31 at a press conference held at the Capitol Rotunda in Harrisburg in celebration of National Intern Day. This marks the first year the chamber has recognized employers for excellence in internship programs.
Hosted by the PA Chamber Foundation, the event brought together representatives from the chamber, Gov. Josh Shapiro’s administration, employers from across the state, and student interns. Speakers, including Mid Penn Bank’s intern Jack Miller, highlighted the impact of high-quality internship experiences on Pennsylvania’s talent pool and emphasized the importance of investing in the next generation of professionals. The award is part of the foundation’s “Keystone Initiative,” a statewide strategy to strengthen Pennsylvania’s workforce by expanding access to paid internships and retaining skilled talent across the Commonwealth.
“We are honored to be recognized by the PA Chamber Foundation as one of the greatest places to intern in Pennsylvania,” said Mid Penn Bank President and CEO Rory Ritrievi. “This recognition reflects the strength of our internship program and the continued investments we make in the next generation of professionals. Our interns are trusted with meaningful work, supported through mentorship, and given the tools to grow into confident, capable leaders. It is an honor to be part of their journey.”
Mid Penn’s internship program provides students with hands-on, compensated work experience across departments such as retail banking, loan operations, marketing, compliance, information technology, event planning, and more. Interns are paired with dedicated mentors, take part in classroom-style learning through Mid Penn University, and participate in professional development opportunities including lunch-and-learns, team-building events, and a dedicated intern fair.
“Congratulations to these employers for offering world-class internships that are preparing students for careers across Pennsylvania,” PA Chamber Foundation President Luke Bernstein. “By fostering internship opportunities, these employers not only strengthen the workforce pipeline but also increase the likelihood that graduates choose to build their futures right here in Pennsylvania.”
Interns were recognized not only for their contributions to individual organizations, but for their role in supporting Pennsylvania’s economic future. In his remarks, Bernstein expressed appreciation to the students and employers who are helping to strengthen the state’s workforce. He noted that internships serve as a vital bridge between education and employment, creating pathways for students while helping Pennsylvania develop and retain the talent needed for a competitive future.
