Hepatitis B Foundation Honors Doylestown Health Doctor with Award

The Hepatitis B Foundation named Dr. Nicole E. Geracimos the recipient of their new Education Impact Award.

The Hepatitis B Foundation and Baruch S. Blumberg Institute recently named Doylestown’s Nicole E. Geracimos, MD, as the inaugural recipient of their new Education Impact Award.

The foundation presented her with the award on June 26 during a fundraising event for the high school and college academic programs. The event took place at the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center in Doylestown.

Geracimos, who got her medical degree from Philadelphia’s Jefferson University Medical College, is a family physician and president of the medical staff at Doylestown Health. Every year, she visits PABC to speak to high school students from across Bucks County who are participating in the summer program.

Pat Romano, PhD, a senior scientist at Gylden Pharma who runs the summer program, nominated her.

“When Dr. Geracimos speaks to the students, she talks about career options in the life sciences, ranging from research to clinical work,” said Romano. “The kids consistently rave about her presentation and how it’s opened their eyes to all the excellent career possibilities in front of them. Just as important is the passion that she conveys, which is extremely inspiring for the students to hear.”
