Bernard Granor, retired attorney, realtor, homebuilder, community activist and volunteer, died on May 16 at age 97 at Ann’s Choice Senior Living Community in Warminster, writes Gary Miles for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Called “a serial entrepreneur” by his family, Granor was not only a retired partner at Granor & Granor law firm, a realtor with Granor & Co., and a homebuilder with Granor Price Homes, but also operated a mortgage brokerage and title insurance company.
Known as an innovator in one-person home construction, Granor was also a pioneer in business consolidation. He worked closely with his parents, Charles and Esther, and later with his sons, Marshal and Sheldon.
Over the years, he was president of the Northwest chapter of the Philadelphia Board of Realtors and of the Homebuilders Association of Bucks and Montgomery Counties. He also sat on the boards of Beth Sholom Congregation and the Lower Bucks County chapter of the American Red Cross.
Granor was honored as Builder of the Year in both Bucks and Montgomery Counties and named 2004 Lower Bucks County Red Cross Citizen of the Year.
“He was smart, likable, and passionate about people,” said his family.
